Purpose of the position

  • The Junior Accountant will support the finance department in managing accounting activities with a strong focus on analytical fields, supplier invoices, bank transactions, and assisting with monthly account closings. The role will also involve close team collaboration to ensure accurate reporting, effective financial controls, and overall operational efficiency.

Main activities and responsibilities

Accounting

  • Process and book supplier invoices, ensuring high-quality, analytical data for operational charges.
  • Record daily bank transactions across multiple banks and currencies.
  • Assist with reconciliation of supplier and customer accounts.
  • Support balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accurate VAT booking in collaboration with external experts.
  • Assist the Senior Accountant with monthly closings and provide ad-hoc financial analysis.
  • Enforce the company’s accounting valuation rules.
  • Perform additional accounting and administrative tasks as required.

Treasury

  • Ensure timely approval of supplier invoices and payments in line with company policies.
  • Oversee accurate petty cash accounting and follow-up.

Requirements and qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Fluency in French and English (both written and spoken); Dutch is an asset.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
  • A strong team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced, multi-cultural environment.
  • Proactive, stress-resistant, and able to meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, with experience in accounting software considered a plus.
